This preserve is located on the east side of Rt. 501S just north of Rustburg, VA. The preserve has a narrow frontage on Rt. 501S and extends east along a narrow ravine. The north-facing slope of the ravine is covered with a thick stand of laurel and rhododendron. The south-facing slope supports hardwoods and pines. A small pond lies between the two slopes.
