The Randolph College Geology Collection contains rocks, minerals, and fossils from around the world, which are representative of many of the major types. Many of the earliest specimens bear the original labels of Fernando Wood Martin, first chair of Biology and Physics at the college, and John Irvin Hamaker, professor of Biology and Physics. Others derive from collections such as the Smithsonian Institution, as well as noted suppliers such as Edwin A. Howell of Washington D.C.
